So, how are we planning on doing this, you ask? Well, the answer is very simple...

No! Nothing like that, it's actually a lot more simpler than you may think. It's actually..

Pineapples!!

Yes, that's right! We are proposing that the dollar bill should instead be made out of pineapple fibers. As a bill, our creation will be woven, easy to dye, and sustainable.

Pineapple wool itself can vary in texture and durability depending on how you weave the fibers themselves, but it has similar properties to that of any other natural fiber. The wool has a high absorption rate, making it easy to dye.

Typically pineapple wool is treated with 18% NaOH, and this helps improve elasticity, making it harder to tear.

We would make this wool using a process called soda pulping. Soda pulping is a process in which you add (Na2CO3) sodium carbonate, and (CaO) lime to create a caustic soda containing (NaOH) lye. From there, the pulping process only takes 40 minutes. Wash this fiber with water, and you'll get the cloth needed!

One big factor for this is the materials. Specifically, the pineapples. I suppose you'd be wondering where we'd get these materials, and if they're even healthy for the environment. Allow me to explain...
